  In the driver’s seat      
    The Commissioner of Police Letika Saran gave away certificates to a group of 20 girls who had undergone the free car driver’s course, conducted by the Association for Non- Traditional Employment for Women (ANEW), Anna Nagar based NGO working for the upliftment of unprivileged women, at a function held on it’s premises on 7 July.

  Certificates distributed      
    CHENNAI: Chennai Police Commissioner Letika Saran on Saturday distributed certificates to 20 women who completed a car driving course. They were trained by the Association for Non- Traditional Employment for Women.

    They do not have similar lifestyles or stories of the past to share among themselves. But all these 20 women are bonded by one thing now their passion for driving.

    Australian philanthropist Basil Sellers has donated Rs one crore to Association for Non- Traditional Employment for Women (ANEW) to set up its new premises at Anna Nagar yesterday.

  Chennai: Australian philanthropist of Indian origin, Basil Sellers has committed Rs. 1 crore to Chennai based ANEW (Association for Non-Traditional Employment for Women) – a leading NGO working for the cause of underprivileged women.

A day for revelry at ANEW saw the girls enthusiastically taking part in Oratorical and Music competitions.

Ms.Usha Sridhar of Interface and Ms.Vinitha of Inner wheel Rotary club judged and interacted with the girls.
